Moss, algae or other debris will dramatically reduce the life expectation of any roof surface. Proper cleaning and maintenance will ensure your roof will preform and last as desired. Moss does not just grow on the surface of the roof, but will embed itself into most roofing materials.
On Duroid/asphalt roofs, moss gets under and between the shingle causing it to curl, crack and peel prematurely.
On Cedar shake roof moss, algae tree needles, leaves or other debris will trap moisture and cause premature erosion and rotting of cedar. We clean repair and Treat Cedar roofs and Ridge cap replacement. Concrete or Tile roofs require regular cleaning to maintain its look and function. When moss grows on and between roof materials it can cause water to back up the tile causing leaking. We wash and clean tile roofs. On older roofs the finish can wear off after years of U/V exposure and weathering we can Re-Treat Tile and cedar roofs making them look new again.
